This work, also known as "Grand Concerto in G Minor" prominently features the trill techniques for which Parish Alvars was known (this is especially true in the middle movement, "Romanza"). This edition consists of the harp part with a piano reduction of the orchestral score and has been revised and edited by harpist Nicanor Zabaleta.
Suitable for the advanced pedal harpist.
English harpist Elias Parish-Alvars (1808-1849) was one of the earliest virtuosos of the (then) newly invented double-action pedal harp. Known as the "Liszt of the harp," he pioneered many of the techniques that are today considered standard in classical harp performance, including glissandos, harmonics, and enharmonic trills.
