Milhaud, Darius, Sonata for Harp
French composer Darius Milhaud (1892-1974) is considered one of the most prolific composers of the 20th century. A modernist composer, Milhaud was profoundly influenced by jazz he heard in Harlem on a 1922 visit to New York City and as a result his compositions incorporated both polytonality and jazz elements. His sonata for harp, suitable for advanced pedal harp, is a fantastic 20th century masterwork. 11 pages This edition is required for Stage 2 of the 19th International Harp Contest in Israel, Winter 2015.
