No harpist in the 20th century has had a more significant impact on development of the instrument than Carlos Salzedo (1885-1961). Famed as a player and teacher, he was also a composer of note whose works reflect his French origins and great support for contemporary musical developments in the 1920s and 1930s. This is a collection all harpists will want to own and cherish. Difficulty level ranges from intermediate to very advanced. This is a collective reprint of the Carl Fischer editions; folk songs and music by Handel, Haydn, Brahms and Anton Rubenstein as well as his delightful Five Preludes. All the selections bear a Carl Fischer copyright dated between 1923 - 1925 and include most of the verbal introductory instructions given by Salzedo appearing in the original editions. Includes a preface by Yolanda Kondonassis. 64 pages.
