Ave Verum Corpus
Paul Hurst's transcription of W.A. Mozart's arrangement of Ave Verum Corpus. This hymn was used during the Eucharist in many church services in the Middle Ages. It was sung during the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. The hymn's title translates as "Hail, true body."
This arrangement is a useful resource to harpists performing interludes during wedding services.
3 pages

Ave verum corpus is a short Eucharistic hymn that has been set to music by various composers. It dates from the 14th century and has been attributed to Popes Innocent III, Innocent IV[1] and Innocent VI.[2]

During the Middle Ages it was sung at the elevation of the host during the consecration. It was also used frequently during Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

The hymn's title means "Hail, true body", and is based on a poem deriving from a 14th-century manuscript from the Abbey of Reichenau, Lake Constance.[citation needed] The poem is a meditation on the Catholic belief in Jesus's Real Presence in the sacrament of the Eucharist, and ties it to the Catholic conception of the redemptive meaning of suffering in the life of all believers.

Ballade for Violin, Cello and Harp
Ballade is one of Claude Debussy's earliest piano pieces, originally entitled Ballade russe. The piano music of Debussy (1862-1918), in both its fluidity and its tonal space, is uniquely suited to the timbre of the harp.
Inspired by its haunting melodic qualities, coupled with some very harp-like writing, harpist Dominique Piana chose to transcribe it for violin, cello and harp, on the occasion of a French-themed concert by her chamber group, the Pleasanton Chamber Players. This transcription provides another opportunity for highly refined collaborative work to lovers of the "Debussy sound."
For the intermediate-advanced pedal harpist.
Includes score and parts for each instrument.
Score is 13 pages.

Barcarolle
An arrangement for harp solo of the lovely "Barcarolle" from Jacques Offenbach's popular 1881 opera Les contes d'Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann). This arrangement by Daniel Burton opens with a series of sweeping arpeggios followed by descending glissandos. The harp plays a prominent role in this "Barcarolle" in the opera's original orchestration so the chord pattern will be very familiar to any harpist who has played in the orchestra for this work. Burton's arrangement weaves the vocal line into the chord pattern in a very natural way. Suitable for the intermediate pedal harpist.
