Method book in four sections for beginners on lever or pedal harp. Part one deals with the basics of how to sit at the harp, tuning, and making chromatic changes with either levers or pedals. Part two has basic fingering instruction and exercises. Part three goes over octaves, three note chords and scales. Part four goes into more advanced techniques such as hand-overhand arpeggios, harmonics, timbral effects and has pedal exercises. Sections two, three and four use well-known folk songs and nursery tunes arranged using each new technique as is explained in the text. Most of the book can be used with lever harp. 32 pages.

The Harp of King David was written in 1957 and first published in Leningrad in 1979. David Finko has a special affinity for his namesake, the ancient King of the Israelites and author of the Psalms. This piece represents his vision of King David singing and playing the harp, beset by a presentiment of the future calamities awaiting Israel and the Jewish people. It makes the harp wail with longing, reaching upwards in prayerful sublimation.
