Angelus is the first piece in the third volume of Annees de pelerinage, published in 1883. This piece has both impressionistic and expressionistic tendencies, using the whole physical and expressive range of the harp. The whole middle section is embellished with bisbigliandos, which create an indelible, uncanny effect. A collection of fifty themes and melodies in enhanced lead sheet format

Originally developed for students in the 'Bedsides Harp' therapy program, this collection assists harpists in the study of playing from a fake book or in lead sheet format. Ray Pool utilizes "enhanced lead sheet format," a term he defines as "educational with a performance orientation as the ultimate goal. A solo melody line and chord symbols are given the same style of a traditional 'Fake Book.' However, extra information and suggestions are provided to facilitate the performance." This collection is designed to suit the needs of any harpist looking to broaden their repertoire, but would be extremely useful to those specializing in "Harp Therapy" and public location performances. Basic Chord Theory knowledge is required.

Specific Notes:
Written on a single staff, the right had plays a solo melody that is completely edited with suggested fingerings in traditional brackets.
The left hand reads from individual notes of longer rhythmic value, typically half or whole notes.
Each title is given a grade indication of *, ** or *** to indicate level of difficulty.
Key signatures are confined to C or G major and their relative minors.
Notes range from the E two strings above middle C to the C below middle C.

Duet for organ and pedal harp

Beautiful duet written for harp and organ by Marcel Grandjany. An effective piece for a unique instrumental combination. The piece opens with the harp stating a very singable melody - thus the "aria" - in stately chords accompanied by the organ. The harp then goes into a long set of dramatic arpeggios that accompany the organ playing the melody. Lovely for use in church or for concert use. Classical trio or duo for harp and one or two treble instruments

A very useful arrangement of this famous classical piece by Handel done by Holly Avesian. Harpist would need to be at an intermediate level with a strong developing technique. There are several 16th note passages for the right hand and the piece is commonly played at about quarter note =88. The piece is scored for flute, violin and harp, but the violin line is always an accompaniment to the flute, so it would be entirely possible to play the piece as is with just harp and flute or harp with one other C treble instrument ( violin, oboe. etc.) The trio could also be done with several different combinations of treble instruments: two violins, flute and oboe, two flutes, etc. Pedal changes are marked and are not difficult and not numerous. Harp part is in score format with other parts printed above. Parts for the other instruments are included on separate pages. 7 pages.
