Early Scottish Dance Music for lever or pedal harp

A collection of wonderful harp duets arranged for the famous "Harp Sunday" held at the Mucky Duck in Houston each year. These pieces are new arrangements of traditional tunes originally published in the late 18th century and early 19th century by Nathaniel and Niel Gow as part of the well-known "Gow Collections." These particular versions were originally intended as duets, but work nicely as solos by omitting Harp II. Becky's beautiful arrangements are a delight to play. For the Publisher: "These Five Pieces are based on traditional Sephardic melodies of the 18th Century from the collection of J. Stutchewsky. These pieces vary in their mood and tone from piece to piece. The Sephardic melodies are simple, but Maayani's harmonizations and the intricate rhythms innate in the melodies make these pieces real gems in the contemporary repertoire. 16th century Portuguese music for advanced pedal harp

This collection features five pieces from a collection of 24 Tentos written by Padre Manuel Rodrigues Coehlo, an important Portuguese keyboard composer of the 16th century. The pieces were influenced by the church modes of the time, so they do not fall into regular major or minor which gives them an exotic and ancient sound.

M.S. Kastner, the editor, provides detailed information about performance and the history of these works in his preface. They were originally written for organ or harp, so pedal changes are not marked. They are suitable for an advanced intermediate, or an advanced player. 42 pages.
