Aria from the opera "Semele" by G.F. Handel arranged for solo harp by Daniel Burton.

This arrangement for the intermediate pedal harpist follows a Baroque pattern of repeated notes and 16th note melody. Handel's opera, composed in 1744 is based on the classical myth of Semele, the mother of Dionysus. The harp's association with classical mythology makes it an apt instrumental choice for a solo arrangement of this aria.

Winter Wind
Although the introduction of this original work by Frank Voltz might remind you of a familiar introduction by Gabriel Faure, this piece has its own identity and quickly turns in another direction. The right hand plays a triplet pattern that recurs throughout the piece - like a constant blowing wind. The melody is rhapsodic as in many of Frank's compositions, and the ending comes to a haunting finish - inviting the listener to imagine how and when the winter wind will end.
This piece is an excellent exercise in musical expression. As Frank writes in his performance notes, "Make the music your own...Your musical creativity determines how this winter wind will blow."

Three classic American tunes in creative arrangements from Darhon Rees-Rohrbacher. For two intermediate level pedal or lever harpists. Some lever and pedal changes in all the pieces, but these are not difficult. Laid out for a harp with 34 strings, but could be played on smaller harps with some octave transpositions. Note: There is not a separate second harp part included, however the publisher's copyright notice in the book allows for a single photocopy to be made. This is, however, not allowed for paid performances, so if you know you are going to use this duo at gigs, you will need to purchase two books or you will be breaking the copyright law.
