This book covers a multitude of areas and questions commonly asked by harpists. Chances are, if you have a question about playing the lever harp, this book has an answer.

Part One covers choosing the correct size and style harp for your needs and desires. It also discusses the issue of teaching yourself to play the harp, something many people are interested in. Part Two covers the basics of using and maintaining a harp: tuning, caring for your harp, holding your harp, etc. Part Three gets into actually making music. They discuss various playing techniques, basic harmony and music theory, playing by ear, playing with other musicians, and adapting "non-harp music." They even offer tips for singing and playing your own accompaniment. Part Four is a series of finger exercises, and many pieces for you to play. There are folk songs, songs from the English Renaissance (including tips on "developing historical sense and style") and a selection of pieces from famous classical composers.
