Harp part to the Concertino. New 2001 revised edition. Edited by Ann Mason Stockton.
"Maqamat," listed on Maayani's website with the subheading "Arabesque No. 1" was originally composed in 1961 and premiered by Susanna Mildonian in 1962. This work uses playing with the nails, harmonics, glissandos, and rolling arpeggio-like figures to create an aura of complex mystery.
This work for the advanced pedal harpist was composed by Israeli composer Ami Maayani in 1975 and is dedicated to renowned harpist, composer and pedagogue Lucile Lawrence. This piece was also one of the required repertory for the 1985 International Harp Competition in Israel.
The collection of Six Poems after Heine is composed of two pieces, Shepherd Boy and Scotch Poem. The Shepherd Boy provides the perfect balance in mood. A happy, lyrical piece with many harpistic touches, all of them original except for the harmonics. Scotch Poem is a great showpiece of intermediate level for the harp inspired by Heine's haunting poem about a harper's melancholy song being carried over the raging sea. 12 pages.
This incredible contemporary work for the advanced pedal harpist was chosen for the 2010 USA International Harp Competition.
