Ordering Strings For Your Harp
It's easy to order the right strings for your harp at The Harp Connection On Line!
There are three different ways to find the strings you want: by harp model, by string material and octave or with a free text search. If you're an old hand at buying strings, you can certainly choose your strings by material and octave, just be careful to choose nylon or gut strings according to what you have on your harp now. Changing materials from what is on the harp may cause a variation in the regulation. If you want more information about any string, just click on the ? button next to the string name.
If you are new to ordering strings, we suggest you order by harp model. If you are not sure which model you have, count how many strings your harp has and note the manufacturer. This will help you choose the right model from the menu. Once you select a model, only strings that are right for your harp will appear. If you are not clear on how the octaves on the harps are numbered *, simply count down the harp starting with the shortest string and note the numbers of the strings you want to order. You will see this same string numbering on the left side of the page once you select a harp model. You can order a whole set of strings, octave sets or individual strings with ease. If you want more information about any string, just click on the ? button by the string number. It's easy!
* Since all pedal harps used to start with 1st octave E, we are stuck with an octave numeration system that's confusing, to say the least. All octaves start with E, then go down the harp: D, C, B, A, G, F. 34 and 36 string lever harps start with 1st octave C or 1st octave A as their shortest string, so the first octave on these harps is not complete.
