|
Ring of Harps (The) |
1 Available |
The "Ring of Harps" continues in the tradition of Boston harpist Nancy Hurrell's other ensemble books, with arrangements for mixed-level groups, which are fun to play for everyone. The tunes are from Scotland and Ireland, and include a duet, three-part and four-part ensembles. There are also seven great solos. In addition to the usual toe-tapping Scottish reels, the arrangements use melodic patterns to suggest ripples in the sea (Aran Boat Song), fluttering wings (The Butterfly), and jingling coins (Little Donald of the Sweets). There's a wonderful range of styles from ancient harmonies to traditional Carolan to jazzy reels. |
