The Suzuki Harp School Book Vol. 3 continues the lessons and techniques introduced in volumes 1 and 2. The pieces range from intermediate to advanced and can be played on the lever or pedal harp.
The harp part for Richard Wagner's Overture to Der fliegende Hollander (The Flying Dutchman). This Overture, composed in 1839, opens with a popular 'storm' or 'ocean' theme and includes many of the lietmotifs heard later in the opera.
An arrangement by Daniel Burton of the "Pilgrims' Chorus" from Richard Wagner's 1845 opera Tannhauser. This piece opens with a maestoso melody with blocked chord accompaniment that transitions slowly into triplet figures.
An arrangement by Daniel Burton of the "Ode to the Evening Star" from Richard Wagner's 1845 opera Tannhauser. This lovely song consists of arpeggios of chords in the left hand while the right hand plays the melody in single notes and octaves.
Träume (Dreams) concludes the set of Wagner's famous Wesendonk Lieder from 1857-58. This addition has been transcribed for harp by Alfred Holy.
