Optional Accessories for the Dusty Strings Ravenna 26
A Black Lacquer Finish is available for the neck and pillar.
The CE26 (Ravenna 26 only) is a foam-padded case with a cordura exterior, zipper closing, shoulder strap, and an exterior pocket for music and other accessories. Case includes D-rings to attach optional pack straps, which allow the harp to balance comfortably on the back, even on a bicycle.
The CD26 and CD34 are Dusty's deluxe cases, with more substantial foam, a plush interior, and two exterior accessory pockets, one of which has slots for four legs. Case includes D-rings to attach optional pack straps, which allow the harp to balance comfortably on the back, even on a bicycle. Use the CD26 for the Ravenna 26 and the CD34 for the Ravenna 34.
The Long Leg Option (Ravenna 26 only) replaces the Ravenna’s drop-down leg with one that lifts the harp to as high as 26 inches from the floor. It allows comfortable and stable stand-up or sit-down playing for teaching, performing, or bedside work. It retracts fully inside the harp. Sorry, Ray not included!!!
The Ravenna Stand is for those who would like the option of having their Ravenna supported by four legs. It consists of a base and four legs in black lacquered ash. The legs screw into the stand base, then the harp is set on top of the stand and anchored with a spin of a knob. After playing, the legs can be removed individually, or the whole stand can be removed with another quick twist of the knob.
The Ravenna Stand travels most conveniently in the deluxe CD26 or CD34 case. The large pocket holds the base and the legs are protected by four fabric slots. The Ravenna 26 Stand will fit in the economy CE26 case if you leave the stand base attached to the harp and put the four legs in the single pocket.
The Ravenna Stand is extremely easy to use; it literally takes seconds to attach. It puts the harp at a comfortable playing height. While the Ravenna works great with its drop-down leg, the Ravenna Stand adds another level of functionality and visual appeal. The Ravenna 26 stand is normally fitted with 12" legs; 8" legs are available to lower the harp 4". The Ravenna 34 stand is normally fitted with 5" legs; 8" legs are available if you wish to raise the harp 3".
The Dusty Harp Pickup
Most harp players who perform decide at some point that they need to amplify their instruments, so they go shopping for a pickup that will do the job. They soon discover a confusing array of options that can make it daunting to determine what will work best. Dusty Strings went through that process themselves, spending a lot of time testing various pickups on the market. Eventually they took on the project of developing a pickup system specifically for their harps that would give the kind of sound they knew was possible. They call it the Dusty Harp Pickup!
Using four carefully placed piezo pickup elements the Dusty Harp Pickup achieves a clean, focused, natural, and lush sound. The rich, full bass notes balance and blend with the clear, musical mids and high notes. It's simply the sound of the harp, only bigger. This pickup works at any volume level, without feedback, which can be a concern with microphones when playing at high volumes.
The pickup is discreetly mounted inside the soundbox of the harp, invisible to the audience. A single jack mounted on the back of the harp makes for true “plug and play” ease of use. A single guitar cable allows you to plug your harp straight into any amplifier and many PA systems, with no need for a preamp box or complicated connections.
If you are playing in situations requiring very high volumes, you may want to add a preamplifier to the system. In addition to boosting your signal, it will give you direct control over your volume and tone if you aren’t near your amplifier. With some amplifiers it will also sweeten and smooth out your sound.
